Dorkinians first team fell to defeat in their penultimate home league fixture of the season last Saturday.
Two early goals for title rivals Hammersmith saw them ere sept early control of the fixture. Toby Pegge headed Dorkinians back into the tie in the 25th minute, from a wicked in-swinging Louis Rosher corner, before Hammersmith responded with two more goals of incredible quality.
Rallying in the second half, Dorkinians began to show more of their true character. The pressure eventually told as eventual man of the man Andy Sears-Black steered another dangerous cross from Rosher into the Hammersmith net. Late on with Dorkinians committing men forward, the Hammersmith number 14 headed into an empty net after a long shot rebounded from the crossbar, ending Dorkinians hopes of a comeback.
With almost the last kick of the game, Rosher turned goalscorer as he volleyed home emphatically from a Charlie Woodman cross.
A nod to Hammersmith who deserved the victory on the day. Best of luck to them for the remainder of the season in what is now a hugely competitive league title race run in.
