Senior Awards Night for 24/25 Season at Pixham
12/04/2025

The Senior Players gathered at Pixham last Saturday evening to celebrate another great season and to the hear the who has picked up the Club Awards this year. Phil Robinson took home the highly coveted 1s Player's Player following a stellar debut season in yellow & green - with over 30 goal and countless match defining contributions. Jonny Walton was the clubs Most Improved Player, thanks to his incredible tireless performances, vital goals and general team impact since stepping up to the 1s in January.

18 year old Oli Scovell deservedly received the title of Young Player of the Year after he burst onto the scene back in September. Ever since he has held down a 1s/2s spot amongst a very competitive crop of players, with a bright future destined to follow in the footsteps of previous winners still part of today’s squad. Mitch Joyner won Best Newcomer following his long overdue arrival to the club touchline and social scene. His impact to this years side may not be quantifiable but has been tremendously vital to the teams successes. George Warne collected Club Player of the Year in a season where his consistent performances have stood out head and shoulders above his competition. Having played for the 1st XI since the age of 16, he marked his decade of service with the Club’s most prestigious award as he enters his prime years.

Congratulation to all the winners.

A message from Club Captain Oli Goddard and Club Chair James Bray.

It takes a lot of teamwork to make the club run and we would like thank everyone that helps out. Whether it be a little or a lot. Whether in the kitchen, behind the bar, sponsors, committee members, officials, etc. Too many to list. Thank you. But two colleagues deserve a special mention. Club Secretary James Whitmarsh and Youth Secretary Vince Baldwin. Without these two gentlemen's sustained efforts the club would almost come to a stand still. A Massive Thank you to both.

Oli Goddard continued,
Big thanks to all the captains for their tireless work and well done to all award winners - thoroughly deserved all round. It’s primarily been a season of near misses for Dorkinian this year, but the club spirit remains as strong as it’s ever been. We’re all supporting the 6s to get the point they need to win the title! With an influx of talented young players this season, the future is bright and trophies will follow!

James Bray added,
Another successful season draws to a close for Dorkinian FC. Success isn’t solely defined by winning league titles and, whilst a number of teams across the club have achieved this (and others have come close), it’s important to remember the wider benefits of being part of a club like Dorkinian FC. With an expanding youth section and thriving numbers at senior level the future looks bright for the ‘OD’s’ as we enter their 95th year. It really is an exciting time to be a part of this fantastic club.

Enjoy the rest of the season.

It's the name on the badge. DORKINIAN, One Club.
